Every Parish Council has different responsibilities here are some of ours:

  • Representing the Parish on the local Neighbourhood Action Group (NAG)
  • Providing Trustees to local charities Stratfield Mortimer Relief in Need and Clark’es Educational Foundation. Both of which provide grants to support residents.
  • Holding public consultations and keeping the public informed of issues that may affect them.
  • Reviewing planning applications submitted to West Berks Council

This is not an exhaustive list, but this list gives good coverage of our main obligations to the community.

When we meet

We hold an Ordinary Full Council meeting every quarter.  For details, dates, times and venue of our Council Meetings consult the website calendar.  We publicly display the agenda on our notice boards at Wokefield, in Goring Lane near the Goodboys Lane/Palmers Lane cross roads and Goring Lane near the junction with Reading Road. Members of the public are more than welcome to attend our meetings. We would ask that you familiarise yourself with the agenda before attending so that you know the business to be discussed. Alternatively, if you have an issue that you feel the Parish Council should be addressing, please get in touch with the  Parish Clerk two weeks before the meeting to have your item  add  to the agenda, or one week prior to the meeting if you wish to raise the issue under public participation.
